Spring Family Photos - Family Portrait Inspiration

The Patin family is always an absolute pleasure to photograph! These spring family photos were taken on a cold, windy day but you'd never know.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

The Patins’ spring family photos

I’m so glad that Sweet Peach Planning, a Long Beach wedding planner, referred me to this family back when they were pregnant with Malia, baby number three! All three kids - Malia, Maya, and Mateo - all do so well during sessions.

We went to Quail Hill Trail in Irvine for their spring family photos, which is one of my favorite spots year-round. In the wintertime, it’s dry and brown but the hills are still beautiful. And in the spring, you get these pretty yellow flowers! The yellow flowers were towering during their session, and we also had some pretty unusual dark clouds. It was cold and windy but the family were troopers, and the clouds actually ended up looking awesome in the photos!

One fun thing about the Patin family is that we have a pose we have photographed at every session since Malia was a few months old. It’s the pose of mom holding Malia and everyone looking at her, while Malia looks at us. See if you can find it in their gallery below! We also photograph dad’s hands with Malia every time we photograph their family. I love getting to work with families over time and watch them grow.

They ended their session by eating pizza at my fav restaurant, Brew Kitchen Ale House in Los Alamitos.
