Spring THEMED FIRST BIRTHDAY CAKE SMASH

Spring is a wonderful time of year to celebrate a baby's first birthday.

The season of new beginnings is perfect for capturing those precious moments in a fun and whimsical way. GIRLY FIRST BIRTHDAY MILESTONE SESSION

We celebrated Sky’s first birthday in my studio, which is located in Old Torrance California.

It is always such a pleasure to photograph this sweet girl! I’ve had the opportunity to photograph her in my studio at four months, nine months, and now her birthday milestone session. It has been so amazing watching her grow up! This is one of my favorite parts of being a family photographer… babies change sooo much in the first year! These milestone sessions are perfect for capturing these moments that will last a lifetime.

For Sky’s first birthday milestone session, we decided on a Spring Theme because her birthday is in April, and took a few photos around my studio before the cake smash started!

The perfect spring themed birthday cake

Since Sky’s birthday is at the beginning of March, this was the perfect time to plan a Spring Themed cake smash! My inspiration was bright spring flowers, butterflies, purples, and pinks.

I was so impressed with the amazing cake that was created by Sabrina at Couture Cupcakery in Long Beach. If you’re looking for a trusted and talented cake smash baker in the area, look no further. I have worked with Sabrina on hundreds of cakes over the years, and she always delivers above and beyond expectations. This particular cake was no exception!

It was decorated with delicate white icing with purple highlights, and cute purple butterflies, and stunning purple flowers and white daisies making it the perfect addition to the girly Spring theme of the shoot. Sabrina's attention to detail and creative touch really made the cake stand out, and it was the perfect centerpiece for this sweet and memorable celebration. I am always in awe of the amazing work that Sabrina produces and I know that each of her cakes will add that special touch to any event or photo shoot.

The Cake Smash

Once it was time to start smashing that cake, Sky was not afraid to get a little messy and celebrate!

The balloon arch was done by We Poppin’ Balloons. They used solid pastel colors in purples, pinks, yellows, and blues. The balloons were paired with strands of greenery, creating a lush and enchanting atmosphere. I also added a pastel orange backdrop to further enhance the Spring theme, creating a warm and inviting space for Sky to enjoy her first taste of the birthday cake.

AIDEN’S FIRST BIRTHDAY CAKE SMASH

Aiden's first birthday was celebrated in style with a Peter Rabbit-themed cake smash session at my studio in Torrance, CA.

Prior to bringing out the cake, we captured some beautiful portraits of Aiden dressed in two super cute outfits. Since the session took place in my studio, I had access to a variety of props, including an adorable teeny-tiny little stool, to help create the perfect atmosphere for the shoot.

The playful and whimsical theme of the session was a perfect fit for Aiden's personality and the celebration of this special milestone. The parents were thrilled with the final results, and I know that these photos will be treasured for years to come.

Spring Themed cake smash decorations and setup

The session was set up with a beautiful green and blue background, complete with whimsical balloons and fun props to bring the Peter Rabbit theme to life.

The balloons (done by the incredible We Poppin’ Balloons and decorations for the background were carefully selected to create a playful and whimsical atmosphere, and they helped to bring the theme to life. Aiden’s parents were thrilled with the final setup, and the playful atmosphere was a perfect fit for Aiden's first birthday celebration!

Peter Rabbit Cake Smash

The centerpiece of the shoot was a stunning cake that was created by Sabrina from Couture Cupcakery in Longbeach, CA. The cake was decorated with greens, blues and a colorful image of Peter Rabbit and it was the perfect addition to the Peter Rabbit theme.

Aiden’s parents were thrilled with the final result, and the cake added a special touch to this memorable celebration. The cake was the perfect sweet ending to this special day, and it was a delicious way to commemorate Aiden's first birthday.
