Maternity & Birthday Photos in Palos Verdes, California

I recently photographed two sessions at a new spot in Palos Verdes, California that I’m excited to share with you all!

I always love finding new locations to photograph sessions at for my clients. So when I discovered this location just a few minutes from the Malaga Cove Library, I knew my clients were going to love it.

To get to it, you park on a street nearby and it’s basically a hidden trail along the cliffs! It’s a fairly steep hill to walk down and back up, but once you’re down it, everything is pretty even. It makes for an easy hike if you like hiking, but don’t want to do much of it during your session. You come around the corner to this spot that the first photos below show, and you come to the most incredible views. It barely even looks like you’re in southern California, right?

There’s lots of greenery on the mountains in the background, very dramatic cliffs, and beautiful rocky beaches where locals come to surf. This new location I’ve got up my sleeve for my clients really has it all, and I’m excited to keep shooting at it!

My first session at this location was a maternity session with Nick and Michelle. They had told me they wanted a classic southern California location - they were envisioning somewhere that was both beachy and full of greenery, and that also had a rustic feel to it. I told them I had just discovered this location and thought it would fit their vision better than the original location we were going to use, and they loved the idea.

We had the most beautiful weather, with a blue sky and a colorful sunset. Nick and Michelle welcomed their baby soon after in February, and I’ll be photographing the new little one in March. Congrats to this new little fam!

My next session here was with Tori, who actually requested photos for her seventh birthday. Her mom brought a giant #7 balloon to document the birthday girl, who was a natural in front of the camera. She knew how to pose, and had a ton of fun twirling around in her pink tutu on the beach. This session was so much fun, and happy birthday Tori!
