South Bay Family Photographer | Jetty Sunset Sessions
The Jetty is honestly one of my favorite locations for family photos in the South Bay. I love that it has the feel of a beach session without being just endless sand everywhere. Between the rocky shoreline, soft ocean colors, and sunset light, it gives so much variety and photographs beautifully year round.
As a South Bay family photographer, I am always looking for locations that feel natural, relaxed, and easy for families — especially with little kids. The Jetty is one of those spots that somehow always works. Kids can explore a little, parents don’t feel stiff or posed, and the sunsets here are consistently gorgeous.
One of my favorite things about this location is how different it feels depending on the season.
During the summer, the warmer weather and later sunsets make sessions feel slower and relaxed. It’s honestly one of the best times to update family photos if you want to get ahead on holiday cards before the fall rush starts. The later sunsets also help families with little ones who can usually stay up a bit later during summer break.
Fall sessions here are completely different in the best way. The sunsets come earlier, the air gets crisp, and the tones become softer and moodier. I know earlier sunset times are a huge plus for parents trying to avoid overtired kiddos while still getting beautiful golden hour photos.
If you are looking for a South Bay photographer for updated family photos, maternity photos, motherhood sessions, or beach family photography in Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, or Palos Verdes, this is such a beautiful location option.
My goal with sessions here is never overly posed photos. I want your gallery to feel connected, playful, emotional, and actually like your family. The Jetty gives the perfect backdrop for that mix of candid moments and timeless portraits.
