Unique Cake Smash Idea: Teepees

A favorite unique cake smash idea in my studio lately has been the use of teepees!

Teepees make for a really fun prop to accessorize your cake smash session with. And even if many of my clients want to use them, every session will look totally different because you can do any theme you want with a teepee!

I have three of my recent teepee cake smash sessions to show you what yours could look like, and how you can do different themes based off of the same prop.

For all of these sessions, Couture Cupcakery (@couturecupcakery) created the beautiful cakes, the florals were designed by Love Her Madly (@lovehermadlylb), and the balloons were from WePoppin Balloons. The white teepee is from Amazon - find similar ones here!

Light Pink teepee Cake Smash: Stacia

First up, we have Stacia’s light pink teepee cake smash! We chose a light pink & peach color scheme for her session, with pale pink florals and greenery decorating the teepee. The top of her cake was garnished with some simple greenery and accented with different shades of pink around the sides. We ended with a little milk bath session as well in front of the teepee, with an adorable flower crown and light pink roses!

Peach & Greenery TEEPEE Cake Smash: Zara

For Zara’s teepee cake smash session, we decorated the teepee with lots of greenery draping down, and accented it with a few pale pink roses. We stacked some brown wooden boxes inside the teepee to create a rustic feel, and decorated them with peach and light pink flowers.

Couture Cupcakery designed a very simple light pink naked cake, with gold accent flakes coming down the sides of it. I actually did the flowers on the cake myself, which was fun! We ended Zara’s session with a milk bath, too.

Zara’s mama is pregnant with another baby and I can’t wait to meet the new little one!

Minimalist Neutral TEEPEE Cake Smash: Ava

Finally, we have little Ava’s teepee cake smash! We went for a super simple, neutral-toned theme for her session, using white flowers, minimal greenery, and soft pink accents. She wore an adorable flower crown, and her cake was very simple with white and pink frosting and some grasses decorating the outsides. We even used some white stuffed llamas as fun props to accessorize the setup.

I’ve got one more recent teepee cake smash up on my blog - see it below for even more ideas & inspiration!
