Little Audrey had the most fun ever with her first birthday cake smash recently! It was the perfect spring cake smash session filled with butterflies and beautiful pastel colors. Being a cake smash photographer in Orange County is truly the most fun job I could ask for because I get to photograph the cutest kids!
The Butterfly Cake Smash Theme
For Audrey’s first birthday we decided to go with a butterfly theme to bring out her fun, friendly personality. We chose pastel colors for the theme, featuring lovely light blues, lilacs, aquas, pinks, and yellows. All of the most fun spring colors that remind you of Easter!
Fault Line Cakes
Her pale blue/purple cake was simple with a fault line to accent it. Fault line cakes are so much fun and add a unique touch to a simple cake - here’s some Pinterest inspiration if you’re thinking of having your own fault line cake made (or making your own)!
The fault line was placed in the center of the cake, with pastel flowers made of frosting decorating the space. It looked so cute along with the rose gold butterfly decorations the cake featured to match the butterflies among the balloons!
